HOME HEALTH AIDE
83 CLOCK HOURS | 5 WEEKS
Upon completion of the Home Health Aide Program, graduates will have the necessary qualifications and expertise to seek entry-level employment opportunities as Home Health Aides in a range of healthcare settings. These may include clinics, assisted living facilities, hospitals, and other healthcare practice facilities.
Throughout the program, students will learn about the fundamental principles of healthcare, including infection control, vital signs monitoring, and basic medical terminology. The students will have 32 hours of lab to practice, demonstrate and perform procedures associated with bedside client care. Additionally, the program will cover topics like patient safety, emergency response, and ethical considerations in home healthcare.
The Home Health Aide program is open to all persons who meet the following requirements.
- Applicants must be at least 18 years old at the time of enrollment.
- A high school diploma or equivalent is required for admission. Applicants must provide proof of completion by submitting an official high school transcript or a recognized equivalency diploma (GED).
- Evaluated and translated Foreign High School Transcripts (If Applicable).
- All applying students must complete an Enrollment Agreement
- Recognize and practice safety and security procedures
- Recognize and respond to emergency situations
- Recognize and practice infection control procedures
- Demonstrate employable skills
- Demonstrate knowledge of bloodborne diseases, including HIV/AIDS
- Provide personal patient care
- Perform patient care procedures
- Apply principles of nutrition
- Prioritize and Perform functions following the patient care plan
- Assist with rehabilitative activities
